The Benefits of Being a High Roller in Las Vegas
Posted in newsIn 2019, a record-breaking 49.5 million people visited Las Vegas! To give you some perspective, that’s more than 5 times the population of New York City (8.3 million approximately).
And the attraction is obvious. Even if you’re not an enthusiastic gambler, The Entertainment Capital of the World offers a chance to escape from reality, at least for a while.
Besides the gambling, you can experience some of the finest food and entertainment and most extravagant shopping experiences known to Man (or Woman).
But for a privileged few, Vegas offers all this and more. These select few (known in the industry as Whales) are the High Rollers, and the perks they get will blow your mind. We’ll tell you all about those shortly, but first..
What does it take to be considered a High Roller?
That’s simple; lots of money. Or to be more precise, gambling lots of money. Bill Gates could show up in the Bellagio tomorrow, but if he doesn’t loosen the purse strings and start making at least three figure bets, he’ll be paying for his room, just like everyone else.
To be considered a High Roller on The Strip, you have to consistently make bets of over a hundred dollars for an extended period of time. Once you’ve proved you’re willing and able to regularly bet thousands in a single session, win or lose, your High Roller status is secured.
And then the fun begins. Now the casinos will bend over backwards to keep you playing, and the sky’s the limit on what they are prepared to offer. And we mean that literally. Want to pop down for a weekend’s gambling, no problem. Ring your favourite casino and they’ll arrange a private jet to McCarren, where you’ll be met by your casino host.
Casino Hosts
Casino Hosts are dedicated, selfless men and women who have one mission in life only. Giving their Whales the best possible Vegas experience they can imagine, and then some.
On call at any time of the day or night, they’ll organise your itinerary, arrange your meals whenever and wherever you want them, and practically anything else you can think of: Tickets to a show, done; Helicopter ride to the Hoover Dam, no problem; professional shopper to guide your significant other around the malls while you spend quality time at the tables, say no more!
I think you get the idea. Your Casino Host is there to keep you happy and gambling in their casino. And they will do whatever it takes and provide you with whatever you need (as long as it’s legal) to make that happen.
And they’ll make you feel like they are your friend while they are doing it. A good Casino Host knows the importance of being honest and establishing a real rapport with their whales. After a few trips they’ll seem more like an old family friend showing you around town than a casino employee.
Transportation
We’ve already mentioned private jets, although they are usually reserved for the really high rollers. By that we mean people who’ll bet at least a couple of hundred grand, or even a few million, over the course of a weekend.
But even lesser whales can expect free parking if they’ve driven themselves. And if not, a private car, complete with driver, will be available to ferry them to or from the airport, and around town if they so desire. Which, of course, their casino host is hoping they won’t.
Accommodation
In Vegas, high rollers are treated like royalty. And that means staying in accommodation fit for a King. Indoor gardens, swimming pools, private elevators, even an indoor basketball court, these are just some of the amenities awaiting the chosen few in the rarified atmosphere of the high roller world. Let’s take a closer look at just some of what’s on offer.
Hardwood Suite at The Palms Casino Resort
This is the one with the basketball court. And ok, it’s only half-sized, but it’s a basketball court. In a hotel room!
And that’s not all this 3,000 square-metre, (10,000 square-foot) two-storey suite has to offer. There’s also a professional locker room to go with the basketball court, a game room with billiard and poker tables. There’s also a bar and a hidden whiskey room. Oh, and two bedrooms.
Kingpin Suite at The Palms Casino Resort
If your definition of a high roller includes Jeff Bridge’s infamous Dude character from The Big Lebowski, (the only film character to have inspired a religion) you might prefer the Kingpin Suite.
At only 1,371 square metres (4,500 square feet) it’s less than half the size of the Hardwood. But it has not one, but two, full-sized bowling lanes equipped with everything you need, including shoes, balls, and automatic scoring system.
There’s also a bar, pool table, two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms. And lots of televisions, large screen, of course.
Chairman Suite at the Palazzo
This luxurious suite features European-themed décor, a private terrace with swimming pool and a hot tub. There’s also a fitness room with a sauna, a salon and a bar. You can also choose whether you want three or four bedrooms. Just let the private butler, who comes with the suite, know and he’ll arrange everything.
Marcus Aurelius Villa at Caesar’s Palace
A villa named after a Roman Emperor just has to be luxurious, and this one certainly is. There’s the exotic fish tank, a double-sided fireplace and a grand piano in the main salon alone. There is also a media room with theater seating and massage chairs, and a billiard room. Plus, your own private terrace with a hot tub and a fire pit.
And that’s just a sample of the ones we know about. Some casinos have suites and villas that only high rollers ever get to see. And we can’t tell you what’s in them because the whales aren’t talking.
Gaming
High Rollers can’t be expected to rub shoulders with the average tourists and gamblers on the casino floor (unless they want to of course). This is why most casinos have special VIP gaming rooms, luxuriously appointed salons with all the favourite casino games. In these opulent settings the whales can concentrate on their game in comfort and privacy.
Food (from some of the best restaurants in the world), drinks, even massages will all be provided at-table to keep the whale playing. In fact, the only reason they’ll have to leave the table is to answer a call of nature. After all, there are things even the most dedicated casino hosts can’t do for their client.
And it’s not just the exclusive rooms. Casinos will offer other incentives such as cash-back deals to keep their whales whaling away at the tables. Drop a hundred grand in our casino and we’ll give you ten back! Sounds like a deal, doesn’t it?
Dining and Shopping
Vegas offers some of the best of both dining and shopping in the world. And the high rollers get the best of the best.
Every major resort in Vegas has more than one premium restaurant on there premises. And in any one of these, high rollers can wine and dine in private rooms, ordering rare wines and special off-menu dishes prepared by the best chefs in the world. Or they’ll just send the food straight to the tables, if so desired.
Premium shops also abound in Las Vegas’ many luxury malls. But the casinos don’t really want their whale wandering around a mall, however luxurious, when they could be at the tables. Enter the personal shopper. Once they get a feel for their client’s style and taste, they’ll take care of the rest, from designer underwear to souvenirs for the family.

And all of the above is comped, meaning laid on for free. Just as long as the whale keeps playing. So if you’ve got a couple of million dollars burning a hole in your hip pocket, we seriously recommend you head on down to Vegas and live the high-life.
If you’re an ordinary mortal like the rest of us, then we’re afraid the dream life is going to remain just that, a dream.
But it’s not all bad. Here at Space Lilly we like to think of all our customers as High Rollers (although even we have our VIPs). That doesn’t mean we’re going to pick up your living expenses for a week. But we will offer you a great range of bonuses and promotions to use on our slots, casino and live dealer games. Good Luck!
